Laboratory analysis and expertise of Chromium/Cobalt alloys (Cr/Co)

What is a Chromium/Cobalt alloy ?

Chromium/Cobalt alloys are widely used in medical fields for the manufacture of medical devices due to their high resistance to corrosion and their biocompatibility.

Analysis of Chromium/Cobalt alloys : one of FILAB’s specialties !

For over 20 years, FILAB laboratory has been providing hundreds of clients with its expertise and analytical services for Chromium/Cobalt (Cr/Co) alloys, with high added value.

FILAB laboratory offers its experience and high level of technical skill to be able to provide the following services :

  • Chemical composition analysis and alloy grade inspection
  • Corrosive resistance training of Cr/Co alloys
  • Failure analysis : ruptures, fissures, corrosion, particulates
  • Biocompatibility testing in accordance with the ISO 10993-18 standard
  • Analysis of alloys based on various metals : iron, titanium, copper, nickel, zinc, aluminum, lead, tin; tungsten…

Our analytical methods for Chromium/Cobalt alloys :

In a laboratory setting, the analysis of Chromium/Cobalt alloys is mostly done using elemental analyzers (C/S, N/O, H) or by ICP-AES.

Complementary structural analyses (by X-Ray Diffraction) and granulometric analyses (by sieving, laser granulometry, etc.) are regularly implemented for the analysis of these alloys.

With extensive experience in the implementation of these analytical techniques and the development of methods specific to the determination of alloy grades, FILAB laboratory is able to assist you with your need for the chemical and metallurgical analysis of your alloys.
