Laboratory analysis of nitrosamine impurities

You want to analyze impurities such as nitrosamines in your products?

What is a nitrosamine impurity?

First of all, an impurity is an unwanted element that enters the composition of a product. Generally present in small quantities, an impurity can be an eliminatory element for the marketing of your products.

There are several types of impurities such as solvent residues, particles or nitrosamines.

Nitrosamines are widespread molecules present in many natural or synthetic products. Indeed, nitrosamines are found in a certain number of industrial products, in particular in the fields of food (as additives), plastics, cosmetics or even certain drugs (solvents).

Why analyze for nitrosamine impurities?

All nitrosamines have been classified as hazardous and potentially carcinogenic to humans by the IARC and the WHO.

Nitrosamines are also monitored by the ANSM (Agence nationale de sécurité du médicament et des produits de santé), which conducts further studies on the risks associated with the presence of nitrosamines in medicines.

The decree of October 2, 1997 limits the use of certain forms of nitrosamines by indicating the tolerated residual quantity and, in certain cases, the indicative dose of incorporation.
