# Silicate analysis laboratory

## What is silicate?

Silicate is a term used in the fields of mineralogy as well as chemistry.

In mineralogy, silicate is a mineral formed from a tetrahedral elemental, they enter the composition of the majority of magmatic and metamorphic rocks.

In chemistry, a silicate is a salt or ester of a silicic acid.
