### What is an Iodine analysis by CI / CLI Ion Chromatography?

Ion chromatography (IC) is one of the oldest chromatographic analysis techniques known as ion exchange resins. The principle of IC analysis is simple. A column consists of a resin charged either positively (to separate anions) or negatively (to separate cations).

The eluent acts as a carrier for the anions and cations to be separated. Anions and cations are detected by Ion Chromatography using a conductivity meter detector.

Ion chromatography can also be used to characterise anions such as iodine, sulphate, chloride, bromide and fluoride.
