The sand or arena, is a granular material composed of small particles mainly from the decomposition of rocks and can be constituted of 180 various minerals (quartz, granite, micas, feldspars …)

Sand is used in the masonry (concrete), foundry (abrasive for cleaning metal alloys) and glass industries as a raw material. Depending on the rock from which it comes, sand can have several colors: white, black, beige, pink and yellow.

Sand, like silica, easily absorbs large amounts of pollutants. Sand control is therefore important to ensure good product quality.
