### What is REACH?

First of all, [REACH](https://filab.fr/en/our-services/our-analysis-services/laboratory-reach-analysis/reach-analysis-filab-supports-you.md) (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) is the European regulation that requires all manufacturers, users and importers of chemical substances, including mixtures of more than one tonne per year, to register these substances with the [ECHA](https://echa.europa.eu/en/home) (European Chemicals Agency).

### Why use method development in the context of REACH?

It is then necessary to compile dossiers containing information on the physico-chemical, toxicological and ecotoxicological properties of the substances, an assessment of the risks to health and the environment and the appropriate management measures.
