Tout d’abord, [REACH](https://filab.fr/en/our-services/our-analysis-services/laboratory-reach-analysis/reach-analysis-filab-supports-you.md) (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) est le règlement européen qui impose à tous les fabricants et importateurs de substances chimiques, mélanges inclus, sur un volume de plus d’une tonne par an, d’enregistrer ces substances auprès de l’[ECHA](https://echa.europa.eu/fr/home) (European Chemicals Agency).  

En raison du nombre potentiellement élevé des différentes substances polymères sur le
marché, et étant donné qu’il est généralement considéré que les molécules de polymère
présentent un risque faible en raison de leur poids moléculaire élevé, elles sont exemptées de l’enregistrement et de l’évaluation dans le cadre du règlement REACH. 

### What about REACH regulations for polymers?

To date, polymers are exempt from REACH registration processes. Indeed, polymers are not regulated as such. However, polymers may be subject to other authorisations or restrictions.

Under the REACH regulation, manufacturers and importers of chemical substances, including polymer monomers, must register with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and provide information on the safety of these substances.
