### What is sizing?

A sizing is a surface treatment applied to a material to improve some of its properties. Sizing products are commonly used in the textile industry, but they can also be used on other types of materials such as plastics, metals and ceramics. The FILAB laboratory carries out the study of the sizing of materials.

### What is the purpose of a sizing study?

The study of the sizing of a material, in particular by XPS, enables you to adapt your manufacturing processes as well as the implementation of surface treatment or cleaning processes. The support of a specialised laboratory will provide you with the expertise and analysis tools to carry out your controls.
