Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) helps you understand the environmental impacts of your product throughout its life cycle (raw materials, manufacturing, distribution, use, and end-of-life). Customer Stories
## Real-world challenges and measurable results

In light of climate challenges, our customers are seeking to optimize their products and production lines through a proactive CSR approach that supports their day-to-day performance.
### Environmental Safety of Products

Fishing brand: ensuring the environmental impact of their lures
#### Issues

As part of its efforts to minimize its environmental impact, a fishing tackle brand wanted to ensure that its lures did not release any substances into aquatic environments.
#### Our approach

We conducted a comparative study of 10 types of lures (polymer and metal), using a methodology based on ISO 10993-18 (medical devices sector), to extract, identify, and quantify potentially leachable substances.
#### Result

The client obtained a detailed map of the chemical compounds that could be released, enabling them to:

- to ensure that its products are environmentally safe,
- to objectively compare its materials,
- to align its product design decisions with solutions that better support its CSR approach.

### Chemical pollution & wastewater

Pharmaceutical company: monitoring of water decontamination
#### Issues

As part of an industrial site remediation project, a pharmaceutical company needed to monitor the presence of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in soil and wastewater, while outsourcing its testing.
#### Our approach

We managed the complete transfer of the analytical method from their in-house laboratory, ensuring that testing could continue under the same standards of quality and reliability.
#### Result

The customer was able to:

- outsource your analyses with confidence,
- maintain rigorous monitoring of the decontamination process,
- have data available to guide its environmental initiatives.

### Recycling of Li-ion batteries

Energy Industry: Securing a Battery Recycling Process
#### Issues

As part of its diversification and CSR strategy, an energy company was developing an innovative process for recycling lithium-ion batteries that combined mechanical and chemical treatments. The challenge was to characterize the material flows and environmental risks associated with the process.
#### Our approach

We assisted the client with the physicochemical analysis of its recycling streams to better understand the composition of the treated fractions and to objectively assess the potential environmental impacts.
#### Result

The customer was able to:

- ensure the safety of its recycling process,
- have data to inform technology decisions,
- enhance the environmental credibility of its innovation

### Microplastics & Regulatory Compliance

Luxury: Detection of Microplastics on Filters
#### Issues

A manufacturer using molten polyethylene was required, under regulatory guidelines, to demonstrate that its filtered products were free of microplastics.
#### Our approach

We conducted a specific analysis of microplastics on silicon filters using various techniques (optical microscopy and μIRTF).
#### Result

The customer was able to:

- confirm the absence (or presence) of microplastics,
- ensure regulatory compliance,
- have a solid technical case to present to authorities and partners

### Alternative Solutions & CSR

Proposing alternative solutions as part of a CSR initiative
#### Issues

A business owner uses salt to keep his roads clear during the winter. However, he isn't sure exactly when to add more salt, so he ends up adding extra just to be safe.
#### Our approach

Find a simple solution for measuring salt levels on the road and ensuring that the road is always protected based on expected temperatures.
#### Result

The customer has a solution that allows them to test these roads and thus reduce the amount of salt used.
