# Analysis of a deformation of materials in laboratory

## How and why did my material deform?

To answer this question, it is necessary to define what we call deformation. This is a form of failure, in which your material faces different external pressures (environmental, mechanical) that deform it.

During product development, mechanical tests such as hardness measurements can establish the degree of resistance to deformation in the face of the environment in which the material is used. Accelerated ageing studies also help to anticipate the risk of failure.

However, during production, during storage or after the application of a product, manufacturers may face problems of material deformation.

FILAB’s laboratory offers tailor-made expertise to provide you with all the necessary information on the compatibility of a material with its environment and to understand the origin of a deformation failure.

## The FILAB laboratory answers your questions and assists you with your deformation problems

Within the framework of a problem of deformation of a polymeric or metallic material, various technical means are possible to answer your need and your context in order to give you reliable results. They will allow you to really take decisions to reduce the risks of reproduction.
