# FILAB helps you solve material and process problems

## You encounter material and/or process problems in your production

First of all, when you encounter a problem in a **production process**, it may be associated with a broken part or a non-conformity of the product. 

In this case, there are two possible ways of explaining and solving the problem: **either the problem comes from the material, or it comes from the production proces**s.

Indeed, the production problem may be linked, for example, to a [poor chemical composition](https://filab.fr/en/our-services/rd/problem-solving-related-research-and-development/accompaniment-in-solving-problems-of-chemical-composition-of-matter.md) of the product, which may cause a [defect in appearance](https://filab.fr/en/our-services/rd/problem-solving-related-research-and-development/defect-in-appearance-products-filab-helps-you-to-solve-this-problem.md) or [odour problems](https://filab.fr/en/our-services/rd/problem-solving-related-research-and-development/do-you-have-odour-problem-with-your-products-filab-can-help-you-solve-problem.md). The product may then be defective because of the material it is made of. Similarly, a part may break because of its composition.

However, when no anomaly is found in the material, the problem must be sought in the production process itself.

To do this, the skills of a laboratory with an R&D department capable of dealing with production problems are needed.
