## What is a thermodesorber?

A thermodesorber is an added feature of gas chromatography. The thermodesorber traps volatile organic compounds in the sampled air and concentrates them before injection into the column.

This step makes it possible to increase the concentration of an analyte by a factor of 1000 and thus to analyze analytes in extremely low concentrations.
