Ion chromatography (IC) analysis in a laboratory

Your needs: to analyze your substances using Ion Chromatography

What is Ion Chromatography analysis (IC)?

Ion Chromatography (IC) is one of the oldest chromatographical analysis techniques known as ion-exchange resins. The main process of Ion Chromatography is simple: a column is filled with either a positively (to isolate anions) or negatively (to isolate cations) charged resin.

The eluent acts as a carrier for the anions and cations needing to be separated. Anion and cation detection through Ion Chromatography is done using a conductometer.

Ion chromatography analysis is also used to characterize anions such as sulfates, chlorides, bromides or even fluorides.

Ion chromatography (IC) analysis is an analytical technique that uses ion exchange to separate and quantify ions in a sample. This analytical method has many advantages over other separation methods. This makes it well suited to a variety of applications such as environmental monitoring, clinical analysis, food testing and industrial process control. Compared to conventional liquid chromatography (LC), IC offers greater sensitivity, faster turnaround times and the ability to analyse compounds with low solubility or volatility. In addition, the use of conductivity detectors allows simple and rapid measurements, even at trace levels. Overall, Ion Chromatography analysis is a powerful tool for obtaining accurate results quickly.
