Laboratory analysis of contaminants

Your needs : to analyze and characterize the nature of a contaminant

Contaminations can have very diverse points of origin. In most cases, contaminants are found in raw materials (following production processes), or in consumables used during the production process and even in packaging. Contaminants can also result from a polluted environment.

The presence of contaminants poses a risk to the level of quality of products and to human health. Monitoring the presence or absence of contaminants is therefore a crucial step of the production process.

In any field (Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Food, Automobiles…) contaminants have become a key parameter of product quality and efficiency. In addition to the quantitative aspect that contaminant analysis can bring, the identification of contaminants is also crucial to determine their points of origin and solve problems in a more targeted way.

Our solution : FILAB can qualitatively and quantitively analyze contaminants found in your products

Using appropriate analytical techniques (Optical & Electron Microscopy, FTIR Microscopy, Image Analysis…), FILAB is able to analyze contaminants and count, detect and identify particles in very low quantities and sizes in many products and matrices, whatever their nature (organic, inorganic, metallic).

  • SEM FEG EDX analysis of contaminants des contaminants
  • Micro-Infrared analysis of contaminants
  • Single particle ICP-MS analysis of contaminants
  • Nanomaterial and nanoparticle characterization
  • Chemical analysis of contaminants
  • Analysis of cosmetic products containing contaminants
  • Analysis of pharmaceutical products containing contaminants

In addition to the technical aspect, the regulatory and normative aspects are also important notions to take into account to guarantee the reliability of the analysis being carried out, especially in terms of particulate counting. Here are some examples (non-exhaustive list) :

  • European Pharmacopeia (2.9.19)
  • ISO 16232
  • ISO 8536
  • ISO 19227
  • FD E01-007 August 2012 Guide
  • USP 788-789
  • ASTM F24
  • AAMI TIR42:2010

FILAB laboratory is at your disposal to evaluated the feasibility of particulate identification and/or counting techniques for your products.
