Laboratory for analysis and expertise

ASTM E165 testing laboratory

As an industrial company, you want to carry out testing in accordance with ASTM E165

What is ASTM E165?

This standard explains the different testing methods for liquid penetrant products used for the examination/inspection of parts. When using penetrant products on stainless steels, titanium, nickel-based alloys or other high-temperature alloys, the need to limit impurities such as sulfur and halogens must be taken into account. These impurities can cause embrittlement or corrosion, especially at high temperatures. FILAB’s laboratory supports you in carrying out testing in accordance with ASTM E165.

Why test your penetrant products according to ASTM E165?

Some penetrant products contain significant amounts of these impurities in the form of volatile organic solvents, but also in non-volatile form. These impurities can react with the part, especially in the presence of moisture or high temperatures.

As a result, support from a laboratory specialized in testing your penetrant products in compliance with ASTM E165 is a major asset.
