What is inclusion analysis?
First of all, it is important to define what an inclusion is. It is an unintentional, discrete body included in a bulk material such as metals, polymers, plastics or composites.
Inclusions may also have different origins:
- Metallic
- Organic
- Mineral
- Agglomerate of compounds.
Why perform inclusion analysis on a material?
It should be noted that there are multiple reasons for analysing an inclusion. As stated above, inclusions are elements unintentionally added to a material.
Consequently, inclusions can originate from various sources, particularly the manufacturing process, the raw materials used, etc., and may affect the characteristics of your materials. In fact, inclusions are contaminants that can, for example, weaken your material or affect its appearance.
