Laboratory characterization of nanomaterials by SEM

Your needs: characterize your nanomaterials by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)

What is a nanomaterial?

First, a nanomaterial is a material with special properties due to its size and nanometric structure. Intentionally manufactured, nanomaterials are characterized by one or more external dimensions, or internal structure, on a scale of 1 to 100 nm.

Actors in different sectors, classify your substances (nano or not?) allow you to improve or substitute your products by using nanomaterials and nanotechnologies (nanosensors, nanovectors, nanoparticles, nanocomposites, nanocatalysis…).

Why analyze your nanomaterials by SEM?

Scanning Electron Microscopy is the reference technique and to date, the most reliable, to characterize nanomaterials and classify a material as nano or not.

Indeed, it is notably cited in the various regulations to classify a material. In addition, it is a much more accurate method than indirect methods such as laser granulometry.

FILAB supports you in the characterization of your nanomaterials by SEM

For more than 30 years, our laboratory FILAB has had the experience and the specific analytical equipment to assist industrialists in solving their problems related to the characterization of nanomaterials by providing its customers with the know-how and experience of its team.

Thomas Gautier, expert in nanomaterials has a solid experience in nanomaterials characterization and particulate contamination analysis. Thomas joined FILAB in 2018, with the will to develop the skills of our laboratory around these themes. Thus, Thomas now coordinates the activities of the Materials Expertise department, and provides technical support in handling your requests for analysis of nanomaterials and nanoparticles.

The positive aspects of FILAB

  • A highly qualified team

  • Responsiveness in responding to and processing requests

  • A complete analytical park of 2100m²

  • Tailor-made support
