REACH analysis in cosmetics
You want to carry out a REACH analysis in cosmetics
What is REACH?
First of all, the acronym REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) refers to the European Union regulation designed to protect human health and the environment against the risks associated with chemical substances. This regulation therefore applies to the field of cosmetics.
Why a REACH analysis in cosmetics?
In the EU, REACH requires manufacturers, users and importers of chemical substances, including mixtures of more than one tonne per year, to register these substances with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).
It is then necessary to prepare dossiers containing information on the physico-chemical, toxicological and ecotoxicological properties of the substances, an assessment of the risks to health and the environment and the appropriate management measures.
All substances are covered, including natural and organic substances and metals.
Thus, as a cosmetics manufacturer you are obliged to perform REACH analysis on your substances in order to comply with the European Union regulations.
