Why conduct PR-6300 / PR-1500 safety tests?
Temporary-use ingredients (fluids, protective products, lubricants, cleaners, pastes or solids) inevitably come into contact with critical metallic materials.
Even temporary exposure can cause corrosion, surface alteration, mass loss or embrittlement, compromising equipment reliability and safety.
➡️Safety tests are designed to verify the chemical compatibility between an ingredient and metallic materials. These tests are fully aligned with a fluid resistance and material/fluid compatibility approach, adapted to aerospace requirements
What about SAFRAN approval?
SAFRAN approval is a qualification issued by the SAFRAN Group to certify that the analytical techniques used in a laboratory comply with the group's specifications. This qualification also serves as a basis for many companies in the aerospace sector.
Following interlaboratory comparison tests (PTP), SAFRAN selects service providers that meet the group's requirements and grants approval for one or more defined analytical methods.
Safety tests according to pr-6300 and pr-1500
The Pr-6300 document is issued by SAFRAN and defines the safety tests to be conducted to authorize the use of temporary-use ingredients on metallic equipment designed by Safran.
This document applies whenever it is referenced in an ingredient’s technical specification.
There are three types of temporary-use ingredients that may meet the safety testing requirements defined in Safran’s Pr-6300 document.
