You wish to determine the grain size according to NF EN ISO 643 on steels

Firstly, NF EN ISO 643 specifies a method for the micrographic determination of the apparent ferritic or austenitic grain size of steels. It describes the methods for highlighting grain boundaries and estimating the average grain size of a sample with a unimodal grain size distribution. It also defines the principle, the selection and preparation of the sample, the characterisation of the grain size, and the test report.

Therefore, the support of a competent laboratory equipped for the micrographic analysis of metal powders is indispensable for the determination of grain size according to NF EN ISO 643.

FILAB is able to determine the grain size according to NF EN ISO 643 on steels

In order to support manufacturers in the development and quality control of their products, by following the regulatory evolutions, the FILAB laboratory provides a state-of-the-art analytical park of 2100m², allowing to determine the grain size according to the NF EN ISO 643 standard on steels.
