Toluene analysis laboratory

As an industrialist you wish to carry out the analysis of the toluene present in your products

What is toluene?

Toluene is an aromatic hydrocarbon derived from benzene. It is a colorless, volatile liquid with an odor similar to that of benzene.

It is generally produced by catalytic reformation (chemical operation used to valorize a fraction of oil). The method to obtain it is always simultaneously with benzene and other aromatic hydrocarbons from which it is then separated by fractionation.

Toluene is used as a solvent for paint or varnish or as an extraction solvent by the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. It is also used as a synthesis intermediate in the manufacture of products such as benzene, phenol…

FILAB laboratory assists you in the analysis of toluene in your products

Our analysis techniques

Equipped with a recent and varied analytical equipment, the FILAB analysis laboratory offers you a tailor-made support in toluene analysis:

Although toluene analysis can vary depending on the properties of the sample, the most commonly used techniques are

  • GC-MS Analysis (Gas chromatography coupled to a mass spectrometer)
  • HS-GC-MS analysis. The Head Space allowing to heat in order to transfer the volatile molecules in gas phase.
