Your needs : GC-TEA analysis of your material or product

What is GC-TEA analysis?

GC-TEA, or Gas Chromatography with Thermal Energy Analysis, is an analysis technique designed to separate different volatile and semi-volatile compounds from a mixture and analyze them qualitatively, semi-quantitatively and quantitatively. In particular, it can be used to detect compounds containing nitrogen or sulfur in complex samples. This method combines gas chromatography (GC) and thermal energy analysis (TEA).

How does GC-TEA analysis work ?

In GC, samples are vaporized and carried by a carrier gas through a chromatographic column. The various components of the sample are separated according to their volatility and their interaction with the column. Then, at the column outlet, TEA specifically detects compounds containing nitrogen or sulfur, thanks to their ability to release thermal energy when oxidized at high temperature.

GC-TEA, a state-of-the-art technique for the analysis of Nitrosamines

GC TEA analysis is particularly well suited to the detection of Nitrosamines. Nitrosamines are carcinogenic nitrogen compounds often present in small quantities in various products and environments. They are volatile and heat-stable, making them ideal for analysis by gas chromatography coupled to a TEA detector (GC-TEA).
