What is SAFRAN?
SAFRAN is a French group specializing in the aerospace and defense industries.
With an international presence and operations on all continents, SAFRAN is particularly renowned for the design and production of aircraft, helicopter and rocket engines, as well as aerospace and defense equipment.
What is the SAFRAN approval?
Because of the group’s activities, SAFRAN’s requirements related to their materials and raw materials are, consequently, particularly high. Thus, a SAFRAN approval is a guarantee of the quality and conformity of the tests performed according to a precise specification.
Indeed, after inter-laboratory comparison tests, SAFRAN selects the service providers who meet the group’s requirements, and grants approval for one or more defined analysis methods.
FILAB: SAFRAN approved laboratory
For several years, FILAB has held the Laboratory Qualification issued by the SAFRAN group under procedures GRP-0087 and GRM-0123.
The accreditation concerns the chemical analysis of metallic alloys and mineral products:
- Elemental analysers (C/S, N/O and H),
- Optical Spark Emission Spectrometry (OES)
- Plasma Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES).
Following regular audits carried out by SAFRAN on our premises, this accreditation has been renewed several times. Moreover, it shows a recognition in the organization, the work and the knowledge of our teams as well as our abilities to meet the requirements of the aeronautical sector.
