REACH analysis in the chemical industry

Do you want to carry out a REACH analysis?

REACH in a nutshell

First of all, the acronym REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals) refers to the European Union regulation designed to protect human health and the environment against the risks associated with chemical substances. This regulation therefore applies to the entire chemical industry.

Why a REACH analysis in the chemical industry?

In the EU, REACH requires manufacturers, users and importers of chemical substances, including mixtures of more than one tonne per year, to register these substances with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

It is then necessary to prepare dossiers containing information on the physico-chemical, toxicological and ecotoxicological properties of the substances, an assessment of the risks to health and the environment and the appropriate management measures.

All substances are concerned, including natural and organic substances and metals. Those used in industrial processes and those found in mixtures, such as in cleaning products, paints as well as substances contained in articles such as textiles, furniture, IT equipment or electronic components.

Therefore, as a chemical company you are obliged to perform REACH analysis on your substances in order to comply with the European Union regulations.
