Respond effectively to your problems and seek solutions

We can help you at various stages:

Inventory: in-depth analysis of the problem to understand the issues at stake

Exploring appropriate solutions: responding effectively to your problems and the search for solutions.

Validation and testing in the FILAB laboratory for implementation at the customer's premises

Analysis and expertise for a solution tailored to your needs

FILAB, a chemical analysis and characterization of materials laboratory, has 5200 m² of analytical facilities at its disposal. In order to respond precisely to your needs, we follow a rigorous approach combining analysis, audit and in-depth study. From the initial examination to the evaluation of solutions, each stage is designed to guarantee reliable, usable results.

FILAB helps you in finding solutions to a problem

Why choose FILAB to find solutions to a problem?

FILAB’s R&D department helps manufacturers solve complex problems by providing advanced scientific expertise and tailor-made solutions. Whether the aim is to improve a process, optimise a formulation, enhance the durability of a material or meet a regulatory requirement, our experts combine a cutting-edge analytical approach with a rigorous methodology to identify the causes of a malfunction and propose viable avenues for improvement. Thanks to its cutting-edge analytical resources and collaborative approach, FILAB helps its customers transform their industrial challenges into opportunities for innovation and performance.

Here are a few examples of how FILAB can help you find solutions to your R&D problems...

Problème de process de production

Case study: corrosion sampling on stainless steel

Corrosion on a 304L stainless steel part near a weld. The aim of this study is to determine the composition of the corrosion forming on the surface of the part, in order to determine whether it is due to passivation.

Material-related issues: odour, colour, surface finish, breakage, etc.

Example in practice: identifying the source of a leak in a plastic bag.

Comparative analysis of similar competing products and tests on the defective weld (chemical study, morphological study, behaviour study, degradation study).

Non-conformity of raw materials

Practical example: choosing replacement materials for a polyurethane thermoplastic

Identify several types of materials capable of meeting a specification

Our technical resources

Thanks to its cutting-edge analytical resources and collaborative approach, FILAB helps its clients transform their industrial challenges into opportunities for innovation and performance.

Inorganic chemical analysis: ICP, XRD, CI

Thermal analysis: ATG, ATG-FTIR, DSC

Surface analysis: SEM-FEG EDX, XPS, TOF-SIMS

Organic chemical analysis: GCMS, Py-GCMS, LC-MSMS, LC-QTOF-MS, GPC, NMR, FTIR

Why call on FILAB's R&D department to solve an industrial problem?

When you call on FILAB’s R&D department to find a solution to an industrial problem, you benefit from cutting-edge expertise and a methodical approach to identifying and effectively resolving the causes of a problem. Unlike a simple analysis that produces a result, R&D allows us to interpret these results, explore avenues for improvement and develop innovative solutions tailored to the specific constraints of the company. Whether to optimise a process, improve the performance of a material, ensure compliance with new regulations or solve a quality problem, R&D support offers a strategic and technical vision to transform a difficulty into a competitive lever.
