Laboratory analysis of Inconel metals

A reminder about Inconel metals

Inconel metals are superalloys made from a mix of nickel and other metals such as chromium, molybdenum, iron and titanium. These alloys are generally known as Inconel 600, Inconel 625 and Inconel 718. They have the particular traits of being extremely resistant to corrosion and to heat. Inconel materials are used in many industries such as petrochemistry, aeronautics, aerospace or even nuclear energy.

Chemical analysis of Inconel materials : one of FILAB’s many skills

For over 20 years, FILAB laboratory has been providing metallurgical analyses of Inconel metals to hundreds of clients, some of which were provided under ISO 17025.

FILAB laboratory provides you with its experience and its specific skills to inspect the quality of your Inconel metals :

  • Chemical composition analysis and grade inspection of Inconel metals : Inconel 600, Inconel 625, Inconel 718…
  • Metallurgical analysis of nickel alloys
  • C, H, O, N, S elemental analysis
  • Determination of the primary element contents of steel : Cr, FE, Mo, Nb, Co, Al…
  • Analyses in accordance with relevant standards : ASTM A-494

Our analytical fleet dedicated to analyzing Inconel metals

  • ICP-AEs and ICP-MS elemental analyses
  • OES spark spectrometry
  • C, H, O, N, S elemental analysis
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy

Going even further : our expertise of Inconel metals

As well as performing routine metallurgical analyses, FILAB laboratory can provide you with its skills in metallurgical expertise and failure analysis for your samples of Inconel metals :

  • Metallographic examinations of Inconel metals
  • Coating thickness measurements on parts made of Inconel metals
  • Weld analyses
