Determination of organic molecules by GC-MS and HPLC

Your needs: measuring organic substances in your product

What is an organic substance?

An organic substance is a chemical compound whose structure is mainly based on carbon. These substances can be of natural origin, from biological sources (such as plants, animals or micro-organisms), or synthetic, i.e. man-made.

Organic substances include a wide range of compounds, such as hydrocarbons (carbon and hydrogen), alcohols, organic acids, esters, proteins, lipids and carbohydrates. They are characterised by the presence of carbon atoms linked together or with other elements such as hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, sulphur, etc.

They are ubiquitous in nature and play a key role in many biological and industrial processes, including energy production, materials synthesis and biochemical reactions.

What is organic chemistry?

Organic chemistry focuses on the study of carbon-based compounds, whether of natural or synthetic origin. In an industrial context, identifying the molecules present and knowing the chemical elements of your products enables you to :

Guarantee their compliance with your declarations and regulatory requirements.
Optimise your production processes to prevent any risk of product failure.
Ensuring the compatibility of a chemical substance with its environment.

Depending on the nature of the samples and the quantification thresholds required, various more or less sophisticated analytical techniques can be deployed. Calling on a specialist laboratory with extensive analytical resources guarantees you the expertise you need for your basic analyses.

Our solutions: measure molecules by GC-MS and HPLC in your matrices

Why choose FILAB for the determination of molecules by GC-MS and HPLC?

The FILAB laboratory is an independent laboratory located in Dijon, capable of assisting you in the analysis and determination of molecules by GC-MS and HPLC in your products to solve your quality, safety and performance problems.
Our experts are able to provide multiple services for the detection and determination of organic molecules, some of which follow verified methods:

Determination of phthalates (DEHP, DEP, etc.)

Determination of residual solvents

Determination of siloxanes D4, D5 and D6

Determination of cross-linking agents

Determination of isocyanates

Determination of organic acids(hyaluronic, citric, lactic, benzoic, etc.)

Determination of certain vitamins

Our technical resources

Most of our molecular determinations are carried out using GC-MS or HPLC (UV or MS) chromatography. These two analytical techniques are used to identify and quantify organic substances in a variety of matrices: cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, natural ingredients, etc.

As an independent laboratory with a team of highly qualified personnel, FILAB guarantees the reliability of its results, rapid processing of requests and personalised support for its customers.
