Laboratory analysis of Titanium alloys
Chemical analysis of Titanium samples and of Titanium alloys : one of FILAB’s specialties
Titanium is metal with numerous positive qualities : Thermal and mechanical resistance, resistance to corrosion, biocompatibility, etc. Titanium is therefore used in very many industrial applications including the medical field. TA6V alone makes up 50% of the titanium alloy market.Â
For over 20 years, FILAB laboratory has been providing metallurgical analyses of titanium samples with high added value, some of which were provided under ISO 17025 accreditation.
FILAB laboratory provides its experience and specific skills to inspect the quality of your titanium samples :
- Chemical composition analysis and grade inspection of titanium alloys including TA6V
- Chemical characterization of titanium medical devices in accordance with the ISO 10993-18 standard
- Determination of hydrogen contents in titanium samples in accordance with the ASTL E1447 standard
Our analytical fleet dedicated to TA6V/titanium alloy analyses :
- ICP-AES and ICP-MS elemental analyses
- OES spark spectrometry
- C, H, O, N, S elemental analysis
- Scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDX) Â
Going even further : our expertise of titanium alloys…
As well as performing routine metallurgical analyses, FILAB laboratory can provide its skills in metallurgical expertise and failure analysis for your titanium samples :
- Metallographic analysis of titanium alloys
- Compliance studies of materials in accordance with relevant standards
- Coating thickness measurements on titanium parts
- Weld analysis in accordance with the ASTM F136 and ISO 5832-3 standards
- Corrosion resistance studies
- Rupture analysis
- Surface analysis and characterization (rugosity, defects…)
- Accelerated aging tests (corrosion, surface alterations…)Â
