NEW - FILAB Consulting expertise is evolving:

Audit, applied research and R&D support services are now brought together within FILAB Genium, our specialized scientific consulting firm.

Turn your technical challenges and failures into applicable industrial solutions with the support of our experts.

A study conducted by the French National Research and Safety Institute (INRS) for the Ministry of Labour estimated the quantity of CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic and toxic for reproduction) chemical agents consumed in France in 2005 at 4.8 million tonnes.

The largest share of this consumption (83%) is associated with the use of CMR chemical agents belonging to three major chemical families:

  • chlorinated halogenated compounds (e.g. 1,2-dichloroethane, vinyl chloride),
  • aromatic compounds (e.g. benzene)
  • aliphatic compounds (e.g. ethylene oxide)

Substitution of a hazardous chemical agent consists in replacing that agent with a substance, mixture or process which, under its conditions of use, is not hazardous or is less hazardous to workers’ health or safety.

It is a priority approach in occupational risk prevention because it eliminates exposure to the hazardous agent concerned.

As we regularly meet with our clients, this safety issue is of great interest to all our contacts, regardless of their business sector: aeronautics, nuclear, transport, chemicals, consumer goods… and regardless of the substance of concern.

But did you know that FILAB has several successful experiences in this field?

How can FILAB help you?

We help our clients, industrial companies like yours, who wish to undertake a CMR product substitution process, in particular by providing examples of substitution shared by other industrial companies or identified in the scientific literature.

Our support approach reflects our values and is highly pragmatic. We always keep in mind that every support project or alternative solution provided must have industrial value, with benefits for our clients:

Accordingly, under confidentiality, the first step consists, with no commitment on the part of our clients, of an initial technical discussion to gain a clear understanding of our client’s context, needs and ultimate expectations.

Then, if we believe we are technically able to help our clients, we develop a tailor-made support services proposal, describing each stage of the project and showing them the deliverables and answers we will be able to provide.

PAR EXEMPLE

Etat de l’art technique et scientifique suite à recherche bibliographique

Développement des formulations en laboratoire

Transposition Industrielle

Proposition de formulations

Essais de performance et études de stabilité

Dépôt de brevet

As we often tell our clients, “anything is possible and open to discussion.”

The key is to consider the entire project from start to finish, right from the initial discussions.
