Laboratory for the determination of Zinc Pyrithione (CAS 13463-41-7)

You wish to measure the Zinc Pyrithione (CAS 13463-41-7) present in your cosmetic products according to the regulations in force

Zinc pyrithione is a chemical compound with antifungal and antibacterial properties. It is used as a preservative for cosmetics and as an anti-dandruff agent in shampoos. Currently, it is authorized as a preservative in rinsed products (except for oral hygiene) up to 0.5% and in rinsed hair products up to 1%.

From March 1, 20222, the European “Omnibus” Regulation will modify several annexes of the Cosmetics Regulation, and prohibit or regulate substances classified as CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic). Zinc Pyrithione will be added to the list of prohibited substances.

The determination of Zinc Pyrithione may be necessary to validate the compliance of a cosmetic product with the regulations in force.

To answer these problems and to determine the zinc pyrithione present in your products, you are looking for the cooperation of a reliable, independent and high technical added value analysis laboratory.
