PMUC certification analysis laboratory on ion exchange resins
You wish to carry out PMUC homologation analysis on your ion exchange resins
Ion exchange resins are purification resins that can be used in nuclear power plants. Like all other PMUC materials (Products and Materials Used in Electric, Nuclear or Thermal Power Plants), ion exchange resins can potentially have a corrosive action on steel when they contain halogenated or sulphurous species. It is essential to carry out PMUC certification analysis on ion exchange resins entering the nuclear perimeter.
In order to be authorised to be placed on the market, these resins must be approved by EDF, after analysis have been carried out in an EDF approved laboratory for PMUC.

FILAB supports you in your needs for PMUC certification analysis of your ion exchange resins
There are different types of exchange resins: cation, anion, non-lithiated mixed bed, lithiated mixed bed, Na/OH mixed bed.
These resins come in 3 forms: gel, high capacity gel or macroporous.
The analysis carried out
Granulometry by sieving
Volume proportion of anions/cations by physicochemical separation
Percentage of active sites (H+ Li+ Na+ OH-) per titration
Content of cationic impurities (Sodium, Iron, Copper, Cobalt, Aluminium, Lead, Mercury) by ICP-AES
Total exchange capacity by titration
Determination of the water content of the resin by steaming
Content of anionic impurities (Ionic chlorides, ionic sulphates, total chlorides, total sulphates, total silica) per CLI
