You would to perform an analysis according to the ASTM F2082 standard

Need to validate the conformity of your products according to ASTM F2082?

The ASTM F2082 standard is essential to guarantee the thermomechanical performance of your shape memory components. Whether for medical devices or aerospace applications, the safety of your products depends on the accuracy of transformation temperature measurements.

By choosing FILAB laboratory, you can ensure a rapid and secure market launch thanks to rigorous validation of your Nitinol alloys and other smart materials.

Understanding the requirements of the ASTM F2082 standard

This standard defines the load bending test method for determining the transition temperatures of shape memory alloys. It ensures that the material reacts precisely to temperature changes, a crucial factor for the functional reliability and regulatory compliance of your parts.

Our FAQ

What is the difference between ASTM F2082 and ASTM F2004 (DSC)?

ASTM F2004 measures heat flow (energy changes), while ASTM F2082 measures physical displacement. F2082 is often preferred for thin wires and small-diameter tubes because it better reflects the mechanical behavior of the finished product.

What types of samples can be tested?

We primarily test wires, tubes, thin plates, and finished components (such as stents). The geometry must allow for reproducible bending deformation.

Does the standard cover all transition temperatures?

Yes, although the main focus is on identifying point Af, the analysis also allows us to identify the onset temperatures of austenite (As), as well as the martensitic phases (Ms, Mf) and the R phase.

How to get a quote from FILAB?

To obtain a quote, you can contact our team via our contact form, by phone, or by email.

Simply tell us your requirements (type of material, desired analysis, applicable standards, urgency, quantity of samples, etc.). We will then send you a personalized technical and pricing proposal within 24-48 hours.

What is the typical duration of the analysis?

Turnaround times vary depending on the nature of the analysis and the complexity of the expert assessment project.

However, FILAB is committed to providing fast turnaround times tailored to your industrial constraints and urgent needs.
