"I used Filab for a chemical analysis. Very satisfied with the service. Responsive team, deadlines met, and a clear analysis report. I recommend them."
As an industrial manufacturer, you want to carry out accelerated aging tests on your products
What is an accelerated aging test?
Premature aging: that is precisely the goal of the accelerated aging test carried out in the laboratory! Indeed, although it is possible to assess the natural aging of a product, accelerated aging tests make it possible to quickly simulate the evolution of a product by conditioning it in a specific environment and/or subjecting it to particular constraints. There is therefore no need to wait several weeks, several months or several years to observe a product’s aging.
What is the benefit of carrying out aging tests in the laboratory?
Studying the aging of a material (polymer, metal material, ceramic, etc.) is essential in qualifying the finished product before it is brought to market. This approach makes it possible to avoid any risk of failure during use and to assess the product’s service life.
Accelerated aging tests can indeed provide equivalent results sometimes after only a few hours, which is a considerable advantage, particularly for reducing lead times in innovation projects. From an industrial point of view, these tests also make it possible to determine a product’s life expectancy, verify compliance with specifications, and improve the robustness and reliability of a material.
Our solutions: characterize and study aging phenomena in your industrial materials through accelerated aging tests
What analysis techniques are used for accelerated aging?
Grouped under the term accelerated aging tests, these include:
- climatic conditioning tests (salt spray, damp heat, thermal shock, UV resistance, …),
- mechanical fatigue tests (tensile test, compression tests, alternating torsion tests, bending test, …)
- and corrosion tests (synthetic sweat, thioacetamide, …).
With significant experience in carrying out this type of test, FILAB, materials laboratory, supports you with your accelerated aging implementation needs for your products.

Development of an accelerated aging test
Thermal stability study
Characterization of polymer degradation (swelling, wear, …)
And also... Accelerated aging study in thermal / hygrometric conditions:
The accelerated aging study under thermal and hygrometric conditions is an analysis technique used to assess the durability and reliability of materials and products under simulated conditions by accelerating their aging. This method makes it possible to anticipate the service life and performance of materials under varying climatic conditions, without waiting for these effects to appear in the long term.
The aim of this study is to
- simulate the environmental conditions (temperature and humidity) to which a product will be exposed during its useful life.
- accelerate degradation processes to predict service life and identify potential failure modes.
