Laboratory analysis of nanomaterials for the cosmetics industry
Nanomaterial analysis in cosmetics
Mainly used as UV filters, pigments, mattifying agents, rheological agents, or opacifiers, nanomaterials are regularly used in cosmetic products, either intentionally to obtain specific properties or unintentionally.
Reminder: what does cosmetic regulation EC no. 1223/2009 say?
A nanomaterial is defined by European Cosmetic Regulation EC 1223/2009 as an "insoluble or bio-persistent material, intentionally manufactured and characterized by one or more external dimensions, or an internal structure, on a scale of 1 to 100 nanometres." (according to ISO 80004).
Our nanomaterial and nanoparticle analysis services
How can FILAB laboratory help you with nanoparticle analysis?
FILAB offers a range of services focused on nanomaterials/nanoparticles, particularly in cosmetic products (finished products and raw materials).

How does FILAB support you with your nanomaterial analysis?
Learn moreReminder: what does cosmetic regulation EC no. 1223/2009 say?
EC Cosmetic Regulation No. 1223/2009 therefore stipulates that:
Regarding the unintentional use of nanoparticles, the main suspicions concern raw materials such as metal oxides and mineral substances (TiO2, ZnO, SiO2, Fe2O3, CaCO3 …).
