Liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with a Refractometry (RI) detector allows to determine the purity of compounds in a sample. The liquid chromatography phase separates the molecules. The RI detector then measures the refractive index of the eluent. It is one of the most sensitive detectors. It allows a more specific analysis of polymers.
