Strengthen your STANAG compliance demonstrations through materials analysis
Maximize the success of your defense programs
Strengthen your STANAG compliance demonstrations with FILAB’s materials expertise
In the Defense industry, compliance with STANAG standards leaves no room for approximation. A single material defect can compromise system validation, lead to major budget overruns, and delay the operational deployment of your innovations.
As a leading independent laboratory, FILAB provides you with its cutting-edge analysis, characterization, and expertise capabilities to secure your evidence files and accelerate your NATO qualification processes.
The challenges of NATO qualification: anticipate to succeed
FILAB's approach: don't wait until the final testing phase to discover a non-compliance issue. We step in early – from the R&D or prototyping stage – and during qualification to control, characterize and analyze your materials against STANAG requirements.
The FILAB laboratory supports you in demonstrating STANAG compliance through materials analysis
Our key areas of expertise for NATO compliance

Client Qualification & Accreditation
NADCAP ACCREDITATION
In April 2026, FILAB obtained NADCAP accreditation in Materials Testing Laboratories (MTL). This accreditation covers in particular our chemical analysis services (ICP, SEO, elemental analysis C/S, N/O, H), and metallography. It enables us to support our aerospace clients even better.
SAFRAN APPROVAL
Several years ago, FILAB obtained Laboratory Qualification from the SAFRAN group under procedures GRP-0087, GRM-0123 and TTS-MOP-004. This qualification is regularly renewed following audits carried out by Safran at our premises.
DASSAULT AVIATION APPROVAL
In March 2025, the FILAB laboratory obtained the DASSAULT AVIATION approval. This approval makes FILAB a reliable partner for aerospace manufacturers.
AUBERT ET DUVAL APPROVAL
Since 2024, the FILAB laboratory has been approved by Aubert & Duval for the analysis of solid materials and powders. A leading player serving the aerospace, medical devices and defense sectors, FILAB stands out as a key partner for ICP-AES analysis.
AIRBUS DEFENCE AND SPACE QUALIFICATION
Since May 2026, the FILAB laboratory has been qualified by AIRBUS Defence and Space for chemical analysis including C/S analysis, O analysis, N analysis, H analysis, ICP-AES analysis, and spark optical emission spectrometry.
LIEBHERR
In June 2026, FILAB obtained LIEBHERR approval. This accreditation covers in particular our chemical analysis services (ICP, SEO, elemental analysis C/S, N/O, H) and metallography. It enables us to support our aerospace clients even better.
Our FAQ
The FILAB laboratory is involved before, during, and after these tests. We carry out a detailed characterization of your materials before testing to validate compliance, and we provide failure analysis expertise (post-test) if a part breaks or degrades prematurely on the test bench, in order to determine the root cause of the problem.
Our team has a unique dual expertise in metal materials (steels, titanium, aluminum, superalloys) and polymer materials (plastics, elastomers, composites, adhesives). We also analyze coatings, surface treatments, and technical fluids used in defense equipment.
Yes, this is at the heart of our failure analysis service. Using state-of-the-art tools such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDX) and fractography, our engineers identify the exact origin of the breakage or degradation (casting defect, fatigue, stress corrosion, poor curing, etc.) and provide you with corrective actions.
Confidentiality is part of FILAB's DNA. We work every day with Defense and Aerospace players. We implement strict protocols for data security, project segregation, and secure sample handling. Specific non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) are systematically signed before the start of any technical discussions.
To get a quote, you can contact our teams via our contact form, by phone, or by email.
All you need to do is send us your requirements (type of material, desired analysis, any applicable standard, urgency, sample quantity, etc.). We will then send you a personalized technical and pricing proposal within 24-48 hours.
Lead times vary depending on the nature of the analysis and the complexity of the expert assessment project.
However, FILAB is committed to providing fast lead times tailored to your constraints and industrial urgencies.
