Analysis and determination of cyanide by IC/LCD

You need cyanide analysis and determination by CI/CLI

First of all, cyanide is an element that is acutely toxic to living organisms.

Indeed, cyanide transforms into hydrogen cyanide gas when in contact with an acidic or even neutral medium. As hydrogen cyanide is a lethal gas, the propensity of cyanide to this kind of transformation is problematic.

Nevertheless, cyanide can be used in certain chemical processes because of the properties offered by cyanide ions.

It can then be accidentally found in products intended for human use and it is then necessary to analyze and measure cyanide precisely to avoid any risk and to meet regulatory requirements.

The principle of Ion Chromatography (IC/LC) is simple: a column is composed of a resin charged either positively (to separate anions) or negatively (to separate cations). The eluent serves as a carrier for the anions and cations to be separated. The detection by Ion Chromatography of anions and cations is done by a conductivity detector.

Therefore, cyanide, because of its anion status, can be determined by ion chromatography.
